The indie band (PK14) I blogged about in 2007 is performing at SXSW. After a little exploring, I discovered that they were one of the bands featured in Beijing Punk:
This led me on a wild goose chase, willing me to discover more incredible indie beijing music like Carsick Cars and Hedgehog.
Take a listen - parts of the songs are in a different language but it'll still bring you back to an era of great music.
